Shadowbunny

Shadowbunny is an ongoing, electronic dance music project created in the year 2000,
by female musician, Molly Phipps from North Carolina. She uses hardware to create songs and
perform live shows. Many inspirations from various genres of music are detected within Shadowbunny’s
productions, but the most commonly heard niche is Dark Electro/Techno Bass. Her ability to create
unique sounds began at the early age of 18, when she received a gift from her father – Yamaha DJX keyboard.
Already a skilled guitar player, she had many effects pedals at her disposal. She began by performing
simple loops in the DJX, which she ran through the effects pedals and recorded into a karaoke machine.
Creating over lapping loops until a song generated; it did not take Shadowbunny long to progress
with more advanced machines and techniques. Her first musical performance setup consisted
of all Korg Electribes (original series), a Roland JP8000, and a hard drive recorder. Over the
years, she experimented with many other setups and methods of creating electronic music.
